Dear IUSD Community, Below you will find the most up to date information regarding Summer School, 2023.Elementary (K-6) Summer School: Learning Recovery Academy in Math and English Language Arts (LRA), English Language Development (ELD), and Extended School Year (ESY) The Learning Recovery Academy is by invitation only and is designed for students who need additional support in Mathematics and/or English Language Arts, ELD, or continued learning for our IEP-served students through ESY. Dates: June 12 - July 12, 2023 (no school June 19, July 3 & 4)

  • LRA:  Cypress Village, Meadowpark, Oak Creek

8:00 AM to 12:00 PM  

  • ELD:   Oak Creek

8:00 AM to 12:00 PM  

  • ESY:  Cypress Village and Meadowpark

8:30AM to 12:30 PM  

  • LRA and ELD invitations will be sent out via email on March 21 and the registration window closes on March 31 
  • ESY invitations will be sent out beginning May 2, 2023
  • Schedules will be available through the Parent Portal on June 9, 2023

Middle School (7-8) Summer School: Learning Recovery in Math (LRA) and English Language Arts (ELA) , English Language Development (ELD) Middle School Math Bridge,  and Extended School Year (ESY) The Learning Recovery Academy is by invitation only and is designed for students who need additional support in Mathematics and/or ELA, ELD, or continued learning for our IEP-served students through ESY..  MS Math bridge is designed for students recommended for, and electing to, accelerate their math pathway within IUSD.  For more information, including Math Bridge dates, please visit the course catalog: Middle School Summer School Course Catalog.   • LRA and ELD invitations will be sent out via email on April 17 and the registration window closes on April 26, 2023. 
  • MS Math Bridge invitations will be sent out by May 12 and must be accepted by May 16, 2023
  • ESY invitations will be sent out beginning May 2, 2023
  • Schedules will be available through the Parent Portal on June 7, 2023

High School Summer School: Learning Recovery Academy (grades 9-12), Acceleration and Enrichment (grades 10-12), and Extended School Year (ESY) Who should attend summer school?  

  • Any student who has earned a D or an F in a course needed to graduate or needed to satisfy the College Readiness requirements
  • Any incoming 10-12 grade student who is interested in completing their Health requirement
  • Any incoming 10-12 grade student who is interested in completing a CTE course (virtual courses)
  • Any Math 2 student recommended for Math Bridge (in-person two days/week)
  • Any student eligible and recommended by their IEP team

  • HS Math Bridge June 12 - July 25, 2023 (no school June 19, July 3 & 4)

Creekside High School Math Bridge will be in-person two days/week  

  • Irvine Adult Transition Program (ESY) June 12 - July 12, 2023 (no school June 19, July 3 & 4)

8:30 AM to 12:30 PM ESY invitations will be sent out beginning on May 2, 2023 by the student’s case carrier                                   Registration for high school courses will open up on April 17 at 8 AM and will close at 8 PM on April 28, 2023.  Any registrations received after April 28 at 8 PM will automatically be added to a waitlist. The registration link is in the catalog, found HERE.  Priority for Learning Enrichment Courses will be based on day/time of registration form submission.  Learning enrichment (virtual courses) may be waitlisted within the registration window once enrollment capacity has been reached. Please read all information in the catalog carefully, before registering for any classes.  Frequently Asked Questions:Q: What if I am not sure what class(es) I should take? A: Please check with your counselorQ: What if I cannot commit to being there for the duration of the program? A: The attendance policies for both Learning Recovery and Acceleration/Enrichment are created to ensure that students receive the maximum benefit from the courses.  If you cannot commit to the attendance policies, outlined in the catalog, please talk with your counselor about other potential options.Q: How will I know what my schedule will be?
