South Lake Newsletter - June 8, 2021

Good Morning South Lake Families,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your support this past year and a half as we’ve worked our way through an eventful time filled with surprises, twists, and turns. As a parent myself of high school aged children, I know how difficult these many months were for parents, caregivers, grandparents, and family members. I appreciate each and every one of you and the time you’ve committed to make the best of uncertain and often changing circumstances for your children.

I am forever thankful to be part of our South Lake community. Our staff dedicated their professional lives, often ahead of and at a cost to their personal lives, to making the lives of our Sharks better by nurturing their curiosity, creativity, and most importantly, their social and emotional well-being. I couldn’t be a prouder principal.

What is nice is that life gives us these natural breaks from time to time--like the end of a school year—so we can pause, reflect, grow, and resolve ourselves to a better tomorrow. I wish this for our entire community so come August, we will be ready for a new year once again. I’d encourage all of us to take some time to rest, rejuvenate, and reconnect with family members and friends this summer.  If we’ve learned anything during this pandemic, I hope it’s that relationships and time with family and friends are to be cherished. Get outside, enjoy the fresh air and sunshine!

Congratulations to everyone for making it through this year, and an especially big congratulations to our

8th graders who promoted to high school…go Sharks!

Be well,

Belinda Averill

Principal
