Dear South Lake Community,
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Orange County, including Irvine, from Wednesday, September 4 through Friday, September 6. To help ensure the safety of our students, we will modify outdoor activities accordingly. Examples of possible modifications include but are not limited to:
- Limited physical activity in PE with water breaks and inside cooling time.
- Encouraging students to stay in the shade and to stay hydrated – we have several filling stations on campus so please send your students with a reusable water bottle.
- The library is open for student during lunch.
You can help by encouraging your student to drink plenty of water throughout the day and to wear light, loose-fitting clothing and hats while outside.
Our school has air conditioning to keep the learning environment comfortable. Please know that the safety of our students is our top priority.
